One of the first questions people ask me is what area of photography do I work in? To be honest I enjoy just about every aspect of photography (thankfully!) - as living in the Bay of Islands, whilst beautiful (and I love it), does have it’s drawbacks. The population is relatively small and therefore getting a constant flow of work can sometimes be a challenge. One way to overcome that challenge has been, over the years, to get pretty good at all aspects of photography so I can meet the varied needs of our community. What I love about this way of working, is that my learning journey just continues, I have a lovely variety of work and as a result have retained my passion for all things photographic. Whilst I pride myself on my professionalism, efficiency and calmness, (along with a sense of humour!), every photographer will have their own “signature” or style, and I am always careful to check that my style is suited to the brief that is on the table.
The areas I work in most frequently are cultural, theatre & dance, corporate and ‘special’ events (those cherished family moments). I photograph people and their workspace for websites - it’s really important to get great images to attract people to your website, and this is an area I really enjoy.
I also teach youngsters and run workshops for people that want to up-skill or just spend a day with other photography enthusiasts.
Another aspect of my work is photographing artist’s original work and then producing limited edition or artists prints for them. This can be done on either cotton rag or canvas - I have a professional Epson printer and along with the high quality paper we get super results.

My work covers such a variety that it’s easiest to give a sample of the jobs I do month by month - of course, I can’t share everything I do but it does give a sense of my experience and style of photography.
OCTOBER - I left the country! I had an amazing holiday - a family reunion and then a wee break on my own in Morocco. This month, enjoy images of my travels - the souks in Marrakesh and of course the ever changing colours of the Sahara desert.
SEPTEMBER - this month I worked with other creatives, photographing their work either for print or exhibitions. I capture images of a “Night at the Museum” hosted by Heritage NZ at a beautiful historic Mission House. We also had some special guests come to the Mission House, a wee dance shoot then and finished the month photographing a local yoga studio for their website.
AUGUST - a wedding, a workshop and a 20th anniversary celebration for our community Event centre, featuring some fabulous local talent
JULY - was a month of culture, music & theatre.
APRIL 2025 - was a very varied month - just the way I like it! A country shoot for an album cover, getting in the swimming pool to capture lovely images for our “Little Dippers” swimmers website, and photographing some Real estate for one of our local retirement villages. Plus some corporate work - (not shown :)
March was a fun month! Work varied from Weddings, to Hounds, Product launches, family photos and Corporate/Business images.
The variety is why I love my work!

February is a bit of a holiday month in the Bay, but the show goes on! This month was a month of live theatre, PR photos, cultural events, families, Real Estate and a Workshop. LOVE IT!
I use professional, high quality equipment that enables me to work on location or in the studio and deliver great results. After many years, photography is still a passion and joy, and I approach every shoot with the attitude of delivering my absolute best and making the shoot enjoyable for my clients.
In my own time, I love travelling - discovering new landscapes and cultures and you can join me on this journey by purchasing some of my private work.
